while i don't like the appearance of the truck, there are things about it i do like. it can't keep up with the Titan, but it can hold its own...and that under-bed storage is a great idea.

Honda is evolving. They started out with motorcycles and weren't even supposed to be producing cars yet they did anyways. And now trucks. Its not the prettiest thing but it will improve later. I like how Honda is trying, but for now I will have to say I don't like the Ridgeline.

I guess i'll go out on a limb here and say that I actually like how they look. I don't know how functional one is or the specs of one, but if I wanted a truck for light towing, I wouldn't rule out a Ridgeline....and that tailgate...that stupid tailgate that I sit here and call stupid, yet love the idea. I was at the Honda dealership getting some maintenance done on my Civic and saw a salesperson trying to sell a Ridgeline to an older couple and he showed how you could fold down the tailgate and then close it and swing it out. Plus he showed all the compartments and stuff to them. Seemed pretty neat to me. And in addition to Rollatuner's comment, I saw something on tv that showed how Honda is making private jets for private businesses.

You know your right it doesn't surprised me to a tee Honda can produce top notch car's like the accord yet what happened to there silly clown car's like the element and ridge line .My dad has a new 06 accord ex 2 door navi that has been a trouble free car despite some cheap plastic sticker's on the window frame that kept falling apart(warranty 2nd time and Honda Notified again)..

The way i view this Topic is Honda can stick to building civics and accord yet stay out of the Truck market if you can produce anything right or what people expect in trucks. I think Honda has some innovative designs but truly the design has it's cork's on what real people expect to drive around personal Honda truck's are just weird...

wierd, but popular. i see ridgelines being driven everywhere here...and its looks are comparable to the new Tundra. neither of them look good, but both have their uses.**

**please note this is my opinion, and not fact. there are those who like them and those who don't. naturally, here, you're going to find more people who DON'T like the Honda

The motor is tranverse.... Nuff Said! I agree it is a over glorified truck, and i'm sorry, a bed stoarage box hardly makes it worth buying!

Well auto manufacturers all branch out into different regions. For example: I know Toyota builds aircraft and industry use vehicles. I know this one place that uses a Toyota forklift. LOL You'd be surprised what some companies build that aren't advertised to the general public. Honda makes power generators. Mercedes makes dump trucks. You get the idea. haha So I guess its not so strange afterall.

it should be marketed as more of an suv then a truck. it doesn't look that bad to me, but it can't hang with a real truck.

I like mine, but I'm considering (GASP!) a trade to a 2007 Tundra Double Cab, with 4WD (A MUST HAVE) and 5.7L V8. The Ridgeline just isn't a truck. It's a SUV or UUV (Urban Utility Vehicle) at best. I love it for it's uses, but for hauling you're better off with a real truck.

It's indecisive transmission and drive system make it a slower then it has to be vehicle. It's transverse mounted 3.5L V6 is okay for a SUV, but for a truck it is honestly useless. The power is in the HIGHER RPMs, not down low when you NEED it in a truck. I hope they re-tune the 3.5L or replace it with the Acura MDX's 3.7L V6 re-tuned for truck applications.

As for the thread title, Erik, please let's be more appropriate. The term GAY applies ONLY to biological organisms exhibiting such behaviors. As far as I know, my Ridgeline isn't humping the Camry next to it up it's tailpipe. I'd say the thread should be called "Honda's Queer Little Ridgeline."

Im pretty much sure Honda's make their stuff for a reason. I mean they do R&D and spend millons of $$$ just doing so... Hoda probably has a market target for the ridgline since the all "real" trucks market are full.

I guess it comes down to practicality. If you need tow capacity go for power trucks. If you need baller trucks go with the expensive - chromed out - all power/leather - roomy trucks. If you need a truck for camping, just like their ad shows, get a ridgeline.

Id probably use it if it were given to me for free.... :D
