    Homemade Black Housing Headlights

I know that there are people out there making their own black housing headlights by painting them and I must say, they look real good. I tried this today and I got the headlights out but I couldnt get the clear front off, its glued down. Can anyone offer some DIY help? I know that atleast one of you guys have done this before.

it's on the DIY section or search for vamp, and then you go to his DIY

it's something like putting your headlight in the oven at like 350~370'f for like 4 or 6 minutes

you can either use the heat gun or the oven method you open your headlights. I just use heat gun and a flat head screw driver to open mines.

No actually you can use a heat gun to soften the glue around the housing to remove lens and heat the housing again after you reinstall the lens to set the glue again.

some people cut the lense with a dremel to get it clean and then reseal them where they were cut.

the goal is to make it look as good as possible.

Yeah, I have on accident. I was trying to remove the stock corner and I pulled in a certain way that the seal broke and the outer lens peeled/cracked off. It doesn't take much to separate them. Heat would make it even easier.

The oven trick is risky and can damage the headlight. I say use a localized heat source instead.
