I just wrote a ticket for an 92 Honda Civic. The guy said his clutch was slipping again. So I was like has this happened before and he goes, "Yes, fourth time actually." I was like umm Ok. I take his VIN and check the milage. 686,752 Miles. I was like holy shit. After I wrote the ticket I was like you have to give me some idea of how you got that many miles. He replied,"I drive from Atlanta to Savannah daily. Which is about 285 miles each way." Crazyness. Some of the guys in the shop remembered his car. I pulled up the report and the last time he had it in was 3 years ago with 428k miles. Crazyness.

When a car pulls up to the Service Department, I ask what the problem is and write up a ticket for the work that needs to be performed. As far as the engine goes I would have to say it has been replaced. They Honda Tech told me he could get the car moving in 4th gear. So that clutch is basically dead. HAHA.

Best I've seen was a Corolla (dont know the year, with 265K on it....original engine). It was at the dealership....salesman was kidding the guy..."when ya gonna buy a new one?" "Why, this one's running great!"

There was an article a while back about a US built Accord that was ready to turn 1 million miles. They were having a big to-do at the factory here in Ohio. My personal best was an Accord with 265k. I hate the LCD odometer you cant just peer in anymore to check the mileage, I used to do it a lot. CW

there's a cab driver who comes to the hotel i work at a lot - his cab has 311,000 on it. Most of the cabs are 150k+ some over 200k, but 311k really caught my attention lol.

my first car had, 300,000 and 250,000 of that was running on dual turbos and a 50 shot of nitrous.

i've seen 1,000,000 original miles on the original engine on 1st generation Lexus LS.

it's now sitting in a Lexus showroom in So. Cal.

yeah, i remember that accord, he turned 1 million as he was driving to marysville for teh big 15th anniversary celebration.

there was a guy who went to high school with me...he had a handmedown old Volvo tank. when we graduated it had 500k miles on the ORIGINAL motor...second transmission. they treated that car like gold, too...his dad had it repainted like the year before he got it, so it looked like it was fresh from the showroom.
