Help with display options.

*CLIFFS BELOW*

All of a sudden popups of antivirus software came up. I knew not to click "install.." and there was no close button so I killed the task at the task manager. Right after that my desktop background changed.

I immediately ran my up-to-date 2008 AVG free edition antivirus software and found a trojan horse etc virus. After that I also ran my 2008 ad-aware free version software and found some ad-awares worth noticing, one of w/c were the popups about the antivirus program.

I restarted when everything was done. I tried to change my background but the tab on the display properties for desktop was gone. Here is a pic of the display properties. I also ran dxdiag to check stuff from there and found nothing wrong.



CLIFFS:
Sudden popups.
Used task manager to close unwanted programs/popups.
Desktop image changed.
Ran up-to-date antivirus (avg 2008)
Found & cleaned virus.
Ran up-to-date Ad-Aware program.
Some tabs on display properties were missing.

Any help/ideas appreciated.

NVM... Problem solved... Someone told me to use registry editor and looked up windows' system policies. Apparently there were some entries to hide tabs on the display properties...
