help... water spots after it rains

I have a situation where I will wash my car and completely dry it off then Ill wait a few day...... it will rain or I will get dew on the car then it will get hot and water spots will form. Is there anything I can apply the paint to prevent it from happening? Also why is it that a car like mine (98 with approx 126k miles) forms water spots easier than a newer car (say a 01 with about 60k miles)?

First, do this follow the meguair's paint protectant system it works excellent. including wash, wax, scratch protectant (if any), polish and buff off really really well (highly suggest you use a mechanical buffer or an orbital one at that)
Second, in 00 TOYOTA upgraded thier clear coat to all cars and improved it at together. It also has to do with the environment and surroundings, such as rain, weather, bird droppings etc. i do know that the 98-99 models tend to have a problem with the clear coat having damaging effects in coming off on top of the car and on the hood especially in between the section of the wiper washer nozzels. I have seen this on many models of these years, when i used to work at Macco. I did the painting, primering and preparation and these probelms you are syaing is what we had there. hope this helps. let me know what you have your car parked around and i can let you know what you could possibly do.

well it basically forms all over the car on the paint. Do you think its the clearcoat wearing away and that I outta get it replaced? This problem with the water spotting just started last year. The same thing happens when the car is parked near a sprinker and it sprinkles on the car and the sun is shining bright and hot. I can take a picture when I get time and show what I am talking about. Thanks for the help.

the water is drying up in the heat of the sunlight and all the pollution and other crap in the water is remaining on the paint (which is why you always wash your car in the shade)

try giving your car a thorough waxing

yeah try that ^ it should work. if you decide to get your car repainted have them repaint it with a clear coat called LEXAN its somewhat pricey but well worth the cost. it resist fading, chipping, and can even resist acid when left on for a while. Just wait till you see how much it cost and the advantages it has.

yeah get a pic up. if you can wax your car every two weeks if possible.
