    Help troubleshooting a Honda

I know this is a honda post but since this is one of the only forums I trust and being a corolla owner I hoped you guys could help. My GF owns a 1990 honda and it won't run anymore. It has spark and gas is getting in it.

It will turn over and it sounds like it is miss firing badly and is backfiring constantly. It will barely idle and usually has to be fully open throttle for it to run at all. The timing belt is new with only 20k on it and has never been a problem before now. Anyone have any help for trouble shooting? I am compression checking it tommorow. thanks guys

Did they install the timing belt correctly? If the head was not in synch with the bottom end, then the motor will run like crap cause the timing is off badly.
