Engine Help questions for instalation

    Help questions for instalation

    I just baught the strut bar today. I have 2 questions.

    1. do i have to really raise the car off the ground like the instructions says
    2. do i take off the covers round the top

    1. Do NOT raise the car... your struts could? fall out if you do (I think they are held on by more than those three bolts IIRC, if not then they will fall out).

    2. Nope, just remove the three bolts on each side, pop the bar on, replace the three bolts and torque to 29.

    thx dude, one more thing....
    if i don't have the resources to tighten to 29 lbs/tq can i do it normally then go somewhere so they can adjust it properly...??

    I just unstalled my TRD strut bar and didnt have a torque wrench either... all I did was feel how tight it was when I unscrewed it and simply tied it up tight.

    Would their be any damage if I accidentaly tightened it up tighter then 29lbs? mmm

    You could strip the threads (if too tight). I would rent one, if possible, just to check.

    AutoZone... rent it for $50, do it right outside, return it and get your $50 back.
