    thought i would stop by and introduce myself. I have a 98 corolla ce with tein springs and kyb struts. also have a gtech lip and 16" drag dr-16s. im in desperate need for some side skirts and roof rack

    also i have question about going lower, and i know the whole "dont cut springs, ever" but was wondering if anyone has tried cutting the teins before.

    I cut the front spring on my old corolla, I had teins just like you.

    I know everyone says dont do it, and I agree... Don't unless you just cant afford coil overs or dont plan on it.
    But I wouldent say dont do it, your not sacrificing ride quality too much.. your not gonna have the ricer bounce of anything like that its just going to be really stiff.

    The lowest you will achieve on cut teins is this(my old corolla:(

    thats about where i want it because right now i have about a finger and half gap in the front. looks like you were tucking a little tire and thats where i want to be. do you have any pics of where you made the cut? also what struts were you running and how much travel did you have in the end?

    I like the stiff ride so im not too worried about ride quality, as long as its not bouncing all over the place.

    I was on KYB's... just like you. Me and a buddy did the cutting and I think it was about 1 1/2 rings we cut off. We cut, then tested, cut, then tested till I got the desired ride height.

    Be careful not to cut too low, because it will bottom out LIKE CRAZY and you will get a metal on metal smack unless you put some kind of bump stopper above the spring.

    haha they are very similar, and i have tamiya clear orange paint coming for the corners, need those skirts tho. did you cut from the top or bottom? i already bottom out on some bumps because missouri roads are..well lets just say they arent the best because of the snow one day to 90 degrees the next to snow again and throw in the occasional tsunami every now and again...

    Welcome to the site! The car is a good start. If you cut the springs, that's not necessarily a bad thing, but you will go through shocks like CRAZY (if you don't replace them, then you get the uncontrollable ricer bounce). Might as well save the money now and do it properly when you can!

    Yep. Cali roads suck. You can be far from slammed and scrape. However I will point out that I was the lowest 8th gen at toyotafest. It's just the lips, tow hook, and exhaust that scrape.

    I replaced the shocks with tokicos for the front...no way

    Im talking about macks front valances, when i replicated them at his place they were trashed, deep scratches and minor cracks all over the bottom part.....I sanded them and made them smooth on the spot before making the mold.

    To whoever bought my 98-00 fronts will notice on one of the fronts it has a weird slope on the bottom that happen because one of his fronts were cracked....I tried my best fixing them up so the mold would be good.

    My valences are not cracked, but no of course they are not perfect. Look who owned these before me, ExDream. And I've seen his car and driveway. Not pretty. And we know he doesn't take care of anything. And who knows who had them before me and him.
