heat shield fell off our 9th gen

yup, the lower header cover heat shield fell right off. all 4 bolts. car only has 38K and I can't believe how much stuff has broken already. The best part is when the cover came loose and fell off, it started grinding against the drive axle and shredding the rubber boot around it. Fun times:eek:

crap quality control from the factory. Looking in the repair manual they say it's a part that isn't even supposed to come off the headers. yet, somehow the bolts weren't tightened properly and it did.

oh I should mention our Toyota RS3200 car alarm is broken too. we've taken it to the dealer 5 times and they refused to ever replace it. now it's out of warranty for that.. how convenient.

I've never had any quality issues with my 8th gen. Toyota is shady, but 9th gens have had a lot of problems by themselves. They just suck compared to the other Corollas.

the only problem I have with my rolla is rough shifting but I'm almost 95% sure that it was the previous owners fault.... when I drained the poor thing it smelled like gasoline mixed with soiled daiper and had the viscous-ness of.... near water

eh I just know I wont be buying another toyota. their quality control is falling by leaps and bounds. Hyundai is looking pretty good with their newest generation stuff... that or go find a company that makes a sports car.. like a miata.

only problem with my 8th gen is a whining belt tensioner I can't seem to fix. Other than that it has been 10x more reliable than the 9th gen so far.
