Anyone ever drill into the headlight units to install strobes? Where is the best place to drill?

I would drill up through the bottom, the reflectors down there aren't used for the low beam because they reflect upwards. So, putting the strobe there will reflect that light up, where you want it.

You are talking on the low beam side, right?

Yeah I said "low beam" but you can put them in your high beams, corner lights, fogs, wherever. Location really doesn't matter, it's probably gonna look similar no matter how it goes. But putting it in through the bottom will help keep water out... although the strobes should have a seal.

Yeah, I got the strobes. I was replacing my (yellowed) headlights at the same time and did some experimental drilling on the old ones. I found a safe place to drill, but ended up with a whole bunch of plastic dust inside the light housing that clung to the reflectors. Not only did it look fugly, but it cut down on the reflectiveness which translated to the lights not appearing as bright as they should be.

Instead a found a small pair of auxiliary lights at Autozone; they are about 1-inch high, 4 inches wide, and the strobe bulb fit perfectly where the original bulb went. I fashioned a bracket out of 1/8th inch bar stock and mounted them behind the grill. They are hidden from view but show just fine when they are turned on. I also put strobes in the corner lights without a problem.

I'll try to get a picture up.
