jp performance makes some good headers...........Unichip isn't worth the money unless you've got a good amount of mods and a good place to get it tuned.

    I partially agree with this.

    Heres my .02,

I have the Unichip with a pretuned map for CAI/Exhaust on my Matrix XR auto. When I added the Unichip, the power increase was not mind blowing. The Unichip is not tuned for peak horsepower and torque, but for a total increase across the entire powerband. The highest gains are in areas of the powerband that the engine is lacking. With the Unichip on my car, you can definitely tell a difference. The car runs crisp and pulls alot better from 3500 to 5500 rpms. I even took the Unichip off my car for a day, and quickly realized that my car was not as responsive and fun to drive.

If your interested in a Unichip, pick one up used and get it re-mapped from Unichip to match your mods. I feel that the cost of a used one is worth the gain.

If you are going to add a header, SC, or anything else, you can always go for the custom tune if there is a Unichip tuner in your area.

Well said, a used one is worth the cost but not new.

I'm lucky though cause I can have Jack's shop (the owner) tune my car when I get one :D

Well the one benefit that you have is that I have a map made following each of my mods so if you want to go all out you will be able to have maps for your car. Once you get i/e/h it would be worth it at that point. You would of spent close to a grand on that work and would double to perfromance out of it by spending another 700-800 with the unichip

You can order one from Unichip directly and un terms of gains I think I would put you around 160 to the flywheel with CAI, Header, Exhaust and unichip. Without the Unichip you would probably be around 145. Anytime you change the air flow in the car the ecu doesnt understand so you dont get full potential out of the mods you do. The unichip will fix that though.

    Here are the 2 sellers:

You can contact Jack Friedman at Unichip North America to find out if there are tuners near you. jack@unichip.us

If you are considering going with one of the pre-tuned maps from Unichip, then I would NOT get the JP midpipe, because they havent set up a map for that combo. If there is a tuner near you, then get the JP midpipe and get a custom tune done.

The Unichip is very easy to install and comes with complete instructions.
