    header

i just got my forza header 2 day n i was baffled on how small the inlet and the outlet is. 1 1/2" inlet and 1 3/4 outlet. kinda gross lol oh well. i'm looking foward to installing this 2 morrow or 2 night. i've read some threads on people putting this on. is it not direct bolt on and a 100% fit on the 01 corollas?

If you ordered the one for your car, it should be a direct bolt-on.

haha I would post a pic if were still intact. It disintegrated the second I tried to pick it back up. It's pretty much just a bunch of flat metal wound up around some heat resistant paper-like material in the shape of a circle.

Oh and for those who have the header now. Please let me know if you develope a rattle like the one I have.

Wrong... I still have issues with it. It does NOT bolt right on. You need to remove a tiny section of the header to make room for a notch on the exhaust section. You will see when you try to install it. Be careful with the o-ring exhaust gasket inside the exhaust-to-header area. Either don't touch it or buy a replacement. If you pull it out, it will disintegrate and give you a nasty exhaust leak. Last of all, the fitment in that same area isn't all that great. The clamp holding the header to the exhaust will come loose and might rattle like crazy. I just bought a replacement clamp and tightened that thing up. It barely rattles now. It only does it when the car is warming up and the engine is vibrating. Hopefully yours doesn't give you such a headache. Good luck.

I bought this headr for my toy and haven't put it on yet but it seems beefy with long thick primaries and a nice size collector. Does any one have this style header and how was it once you installed it?

so its finally installed and i felt a little difference. also tone of car sounds the same xcept higher rpms. top end increased a lot. but still dissapointed in the fact that its the same inlet and outlet as the stock headers. its just a different design+ lighter material. its a good catch i gess, but dats my 2 cents

my exhaust/ header doesn't rattle. i took out the clamp. what i did was welded the headers directly to my exhaust. no cat just staight pipe to the muffler.

The forza design I saw has the same lengh of primary tubes as stock so the torque peek remains the same high but the tube is bigger so it's doing a great job at higher RPM's. . If I was too assume that your motor is non vvti then getting cam gears and advancing the intake will bring all that power closer to a more usable range and thus more streetable. If you have VVTI then the cam con could alter the map for the cam timing to get it to where you need it too.

It's an SAFC of sorts. Power Enterprise makes it. Google is your friend. <img src="http://vvti.net/forums/images/smilies/smile.gif" border="0" alt="" title="Smile" />

    ^LOL
Camcon is a piggyback like safc. It can control vvti (cam angle) and a/f ratio.
Go newcelica.org and search for camcon, you will get a lot of information there.
    I'm saving $$$ to buy myself a camcon, but I think I'll get a header first. :)

Emanage can control ignition, fuel, and timing. Camcon can only adjust vvt-i and A/F.

which do u think is worh the cash? and also by adjusting vvt-i isn't it for only saving gas? Cuz it doesn't work liek vtec.

Go for eManage. It's a full piggyback. Should cost you about as much as a CamCon, but will be able to do more. Just get someone to tune it for you.

I agree with c green38 get the emanage first and run the camcon for secondary tuning. Engines with vvt are great because it makes them more responsive then the vtec system. The extra timing you get with vvt makes up fror less lift.If you want more air get the oversized valves first since their a better mod then cams though harder since theirs more to tearapart. Get valves springs too and then do the cams later, thatway you will get an idea if you need more lift. If your running natural aspirated or nitrous then you NEEED vvt but if your supercharged or turbo then you don't need as much Also The fastest hondas are getting away from vtec's and moving towards fixed rockers like chevys and fords. more stable and power.

Also if you wrap the header you may get the boost your looking for in the bottom end and also ontop don't stop at the header but all the way just in front of the cat. after that check the wrap after 100 miles to see if it is coming off.
