im thinking of taking out the rear seats. i know the weight loss is minimal, but i rarely have more than one passenger at a time, if any, and it couldnt hurt

Holy crap dude, thats a great idea. I was gonna gut my car next time I go to the track just to see if it has any effect.

rear seat out plus removed spare tools, carpeting and all that shit, should have atleast a slight effect.

but not worth the trouble if you really need it for everyday

I swear that you could lose more weight in your car by going on a diet, and I agree that it would not be worth it.

    LOL!!!!!!!!!!!! that is very true!

Blah it don't matter at least i am glad for the fact that my car has some one-way mirror tint. so they can't see inside.

i am gonna remove the rear seat and install my 98 LE seats and get another set of stock set covers. So that i can have four bucket seats. I jsut have to remove the airbags from those seats and install them in the front. the dealer said they would charge me 130 bucks for the job so i am going to go with that.

Over the summer I'm going to custom fab the rear to make bucket seats like 01rolla said. Taking some course in Orlando that gives you all the suplies and the time to work on your car...gonna work on a custom system set up too.

Yeah thats the main reason I wanna take this class thing. They give you all the supplies and tools you need....plus they certify you in like four catagories and you are like guaranteed a job for life or some shit...i'm really only interested in the fact i can play w/ my car. lol.

i got my certification for free during high school! hehe. Its not that i will have time to work on my car while in the MC but ia have other things i want to work on so i ill be a bit less attentive to my car.

i gutted out the 98' and i tell you it did not get any lighter at all. i am talking about the entire car being stripped! Take off your hood and trunk and that does take a load off! hehe.

Well the plastic pieces dont really weigh much, prolly like 10-15lbs combined. but the front 2 seats are heavy as fuk! Probably 40-50lbs each. The rear backrest weighs a bit also but the ass cushion is light. I say a stripped interior would kill around 100lbs.

But I do have 1 bucket seat that weighs about 13lbs, maybe a bit less than 20 with sliders.

    100lbs=6hp....or so people say.

...might be slightly beneficial if you can gut that much.

I can vouch for that. The stock seats were heavier than the ones he sent ;)

I saw a 4 door integra shave off the back doors and it looked decent...iono...just an idea.

i guy here did that to his prism but it looked kinda nasty he had a full system in the back and the trunk. i am just gonna stick to regular bucket on the back or a full set of aftermarket on all four.

r u going to do the entire carpet redone or how? i am just going to have the entire carpet replaced with a medium cut-pile so its not so short like stock. more like a luxury car type of carpet. the carpet ill run all the way to the top where the speakers are.

i haven't even thought about carpet yet. Lol. I think it depends on what I do with the backseat. If I replace it w/ a custom sub housing then I'll prolly redo the carpet in the car...or so i'd imagin...If I stick with just puttin bucket seats in i'll prolly keep it stock.
