Ground wires really do make a difference..... surprisingly

i installed some ground wires on my car today not really believing they would make any difference but they really do make the car run smoother and more responsive especially at low RPMS. not like more powerfull or anything just not so lurchy. heres a pic and go to my page for some more.

I just got that same exact kit and installed it yesterday. I dont feel any more power or torqu e as it claims and my head lights dont seem brighter. but my auto does shift more smoother. and it looks good in the engine bay. o well this is just a temporary solution till i get the Apexi grounding system :D it supposedly gave an evo 9 whp

i dont know how much diffrence your going to see by upgrading from one brand wire to aother.

9hp on a 300 horse motor is only 3%. your probably getting 3% out of yours, its just not enough to test on the butt dyno.

i have a set of grounds made by another forum member and saw lots of little subtile improvements. worth 30 bucks. not worth 100 or more.

yea i doubt you really getting more power out of it... the car just runs smooter which give the illusion of more power when its really only different then your used too. im gonna put my underdrive alt pulley back on and see if i notice any difference.

A'PEX Super Ground makes 8.5 HP

We are pleased to announce that during a recent dyno test for D-Sport magazine, the new A'PEX Super Ground System made an outstanding 8.5 horse power to the wheels. Testing was conducted on a 2004 Subaru WRX STi using XS Engineering's four wheel chassis dynamometer. Previous modifications to the car consist of upgraded intake, downpipe, exhaust, and front mount intercooler. Power output was increased throughout the power band with a maximum gain of 8.5hp at 6000 RPM (400 RPM sooner than baseline max power). This test proves the real world capabilities of the Super Ground System.

For purchasing information, please contact an authorized A'PEX distributor (see "dealers" section of our website for a complete nation wide list).

Location: XS Engineering, Huntington Beach CA
    Car: 2004 Subaru WRX STi
Modifications: Upgraded intake, exhaust, down pipe, front mount intercooler
    MAX POWER (Baseline:( 298.1 @ 6400RPM
MAX POWER with A'PEX Super Ground System: 306.6 @ 6000RPM

Power measured at all four wheels using four wheel chassis dynamometer.

*Just if you wanted to read it also the Apexi one has a box that supposedly and i quote"the control unit features an electrical charging system and electrical noise filter. The double noise filter smoothes turbulent electrical current, providing a stable and consistent voltage flow to all your vehicles electrical devices

i tried to go by what they said to do

the first wire wraps around and goes to the bolt that holds down the headlight
second goes to the trans. i used the same mounting bolt as the O.E. ground
third wire goes to the head.... there is a bolt by the quick disconnect for the fuel rail that holds a bracket to the head.
fourth wire is 2 pieces the first piece goes to the bolt that holds a bracket to the throttle body and intake and then the second piece goes to the A/C compressor
fifth wire goes to the alternator top mounting bolt
finally the sixth wire is going to the front motor mount

yea the ones i have are 4 gauge. custom is a good idea because the longest wire i got with my kit barely makes it to the alternator. thats why that one wire goes over my intake. that was the only way that it would reach.
