    Good article on wet weather performance as a function of tread depth

    FYI: A pretty good article that shows the results of tire tread depth and braking performance on wet roads. Though it is common sense - the article and especially the included video make for a solid, technical look at it. Also note the water depth - 0.05" - 0.06" at the lowest point (basically the thickness of a dime).

    I generally get my tires replaced when they hit the halfway mark. Tire warranties don't mean anything to me - if they get worn, they're worn, if they have a problem, then I won't buy them again. Tires are cheap compared to getting into an accident. Speaking from past experience on that.
