    General question on Sway Bars

Is it even worth having sway bars if the car is not lowered? I know by lowering the car, it improves the handling alot (for the tC at least).

I have a co-worker who wants to sell me the TRD sway bar but if its not worth it w/o the drop, then I don't think its worth even buying.

during normal driving, sway bars really dont do anything. If you are on stock springs and dampeners you are not utalizing the full handling characteristics of you car anyways, pointless IMO.

    well...looking at it this way...

the boyfriend drives a convertible...it's NOT lowered, nor will it ever be. however, since it's a convertible, it's got no handling whatsoever. he nabbed a set of sways from another car(these were stock, from a heavier car that shared the same platform...they were significantly larger than his stock sways), and he increased his handling drastically. he can actually take turns at speed now, instead of having to slow down to grandma pace.

I agree, i had sway bars before my car ot lowered and it prevented some body roll going on sharp corners

that depends on the vehicle, though. you take a convertible - which, by nature, has flimsy handling - and add sways. you've just increased your handling by a noticeable degree. sure you won't see that much in a sedan...they're a lot more stable.
