    General Exclaim UHP Tires

I need new summer tires. I've been looking at yokohama parada spec 2's, but looking at tirerack, General Exclaim UHP's look like they're a pretty good tire. Plus, for 205/45/16's they're 17 pounds apiece vs. parada (and others), which are 20 pounds for the same size. Anyone have experience with them?

i have no experience with them but the reason they could probably weigh more is because the have a thicker sidewall and thicker inner tread for better response and handeling purposes.

lighter might not always mean better when it comes to tires.. usually it means it has a less reinforced sidewall which leads to sloppy handleing as the tire would want to roll over on itself when presented with lateral forces.

But no I never had any experences with that particular brand.

I have some experience with some of their oem replacement tires, they're horrible! almost as bad as those firestone fr680's but if they make better tires than that who knows.

i'd go with BFGoodrich for summer tires since they have a soft, medium and hard compound tires.
