Engine gear ratio mod for 02 - ur opinions plz

    gear ratio mod for 02 - ur opinions plz

    245E 1st - 3.643 2nd - 2.008 3rd - 1.296 4th - 0.892

    246E 1st - 4.005 2nd - 2.208 3rd - 1.425 4th - 0.981

    my 02 corolla have the 245 tranny...

    and the 03 corolla have the 246 tranny...

    i was wondering what do you guys think of the gear ratio of the 03 corolla?

    would it benefit my car? accelerate better? etc?

    the tranny shop that im working with said that the transplant will work, but what do you guys think?

    if you're gonna do a tranny swap then why don't you get a clutch...not being a smart ass...I'm really asking?

    I dont think he's gonna change the tranny... just modify the gear ratio's .. my mechanic recommended that a long long time ago ... I've never driven a 03-UP so I can't say what the difference feels like

    well u need a 246 tranny from a 03... gut its gears and transplant it over to the 02.

    cost? i have no idea... i dont know how involved it is...

    just doin it as a mini project i guess...

    any ideas?

    i think that an auto 03 is a bit quicker than an auto 02, but thats just the seat of my pants dyno. i did drive the two cars one right after the other though.
