    Front end noise

1999 Corolla,60,000 miles. My car makes a distinct thump sound when I drive on rough road surfaces at low speed. The mechanic said that he found that one of the two small stabilizer bar links(driver side) had play in it,everything else in the suspension system checks out fine. The machanic said that I probably hit a pothole and damage that part,Is this possible?Anyone knows how to repair this?

    Update.

All 4 stabilizer bar links were worned out..lots of play in them causing the noise when going over bumps. They act like mini ball joints on this vehicule. This repair took around 10 minutes and now it rides like a brand new car.
