    Frickin DC Headers...Where Are You????/

Anyone as pissed off as me. I've been waiting and waiting for those DC Headers to come out. Everytime i check the website just says TBA. Does anyone in here know when they are coming out?

No offense to those who have the KBD and EL Prototype but I been using DC for a while and kinda have brand loyalty. By the way how are those headers to those that have them?

Anyway just wanted to blow off some steam

I'm waiting for DC to come out with those headers too. That is my next mod on my list. I wish that TRD had a complete line of performance parts for the Corolla (ie. injectors, fuel rail, pulleys, headers, etc.).

We should have eneryone on this board bombard DC Sports with telephone calls regarding the headers. Maybe they will take notice and produce them faster.

Doubtful. I'm sure someone out there is looking out for the Corolla. I'd really like to get Hotshot to make a header for the '03+ Corolla. Might have to look into getting one made maybe. :)

Calm down peeps. DC Sports headers, like all AEM / DCSports part have to go through CARB registration. And sad to say, the members that sit on the CARB board are like politicians. Getting a product CARB certified means dealing with the bureaucracy that is CARB (and also being able to fork over the absurd amounts of money necessary for registration), and as we all know, if there's one thing that bureaucracies are known for, it's delays.

I hear ya KingKuei...but just frustrated like the rest of ya...been waiting too long. Anyway, just wanted to let other ppl in here know I saw some headers for our car at www.nopi.com (maybe old news to some ppl)

I never heard of that brand but it looks like 4-2-1 from the picture and its over $400. If anyone decides to get it let us know how it is. :D

KBD, EL Prototypes, and JP. They're all non-CARB registered headers. None of these headers will cause any emissions problems, but seeing as how you're in California like me, they won't pass visual inspection should the smog station rep. want to look under your hood.

Unless the picture is just a generic picture of what the Racer Design header looks like in general, then that header is not for our cars. It's clearly designed for vehicles where the exhaust manifold is front-facing, rather than rear-facing like the way Toyota designed ours. And on top of that, it's actually not a 4-2-1 header. If you look closely, you'll see that each of the 4 pipes is separate, and they ALL converge at one point. A true 4-2-1 header has 4 pipes COMBINING into 2, then those two combining into 1.

Are you sure that adding a header for our cars will pass the emissions test? Screw the visual inspection, though. I thought that pumping all that exhaust out will register a check engine light from the O2 sensors.

Quite a few people have put on one of those aftermarket headers now. And two weeks ago I helped someone install their header. No check engine light there, and so far, I haven't heard anyone else registering a check engine light either. The new headers don't really increase the size of the piping, but they do smooth it out and allow for better flow of exhaust, so I don't think they're really "pumping out" more exhaust so to speak, merely the same volume of gas exiting a faster speed?

Headers have equal lenght runners with larger, even inside diameter matching exhaust port outlets, unlike stock restrictive exhaust manifold. This does help evacuate exhaust gases, which is desirable. This cannot have any ill effect on the O2 sensor which simply reads exhaust gas oxygen content to fine tune fuel delivery calibration.
