    forged lug nuts

I'm thinking of getting a set of the extra long ones. I'm still deciding on a color but leaning towards red. I've got bronze wheels so I think these will look best. What are your opinions?

i think they look cool. long lug nuts are better. you don't end up scratching the rim when taking off the lug nuts

Replace the whole thing including the lugs. Then you won't have to worry about it for a long time.

I meant the lug bolts and the nuts. My friend who has an 01 Neon recently busted the whole lug bolt into two pieces. Yup, these things grow old too...

Nah, they should last the entire life of the car and even longer. I think your friend over torqued the lug nuts and snapped the lug. Or he could have used an impact tool to remove a seized lug nut. These things don't break that easy. The don't really get old either. It's metal so it wouldn't wear out or weaken.

Introducing the latest in lug nut technology from Kics Project of Japan! Endorsed by Japanese race teams, these seven sided heptagonal lug nuts come in a complete set of 20 lugs along with a key. The unique feature of this patent pending lug nut is that each lug consist of 2 peices, where the top of the lugs spin freely from the tapered centering ring. This ensures a much tighter and precise hold than traditional lug nuts. It also minimizes the chances of scratching your wheels. Made of lightweight composite materials, these open ended lugs fit on both standard studs as well as extended studs. The entire set weighs just under 2 lbs! Highly recommended for both street and track enthusiasts.

The new NEO CHRONO version is created with a Cold-Forged SCM-435 material and features the following:

    - Attached rotating taper-seat made with A70705-T6 aluminum and ultra-hard alumite finish ensuring best contact
    - Super lightweight
    - External drive by popular 17mm hex for easy install
    - Full stud engagement and can accomodate extended studs
    - Reliable and stronger than aluminum racing lug nuts
    - Set includes 16 lug nuts and 4 locking lugs (to prevent theft)
    - Japan patented and USA patent pending

I'm going to go with these RAYS knockoffs by OBX.
OBX Racing forged lug nuts, less than 50 dollars
    [IMG]
Real RAYS lug nuts, ~150 dollars

They're still forged aluminum and anodized red so they won't fade. I don't see a difference. The brand name makes something worth several times more. It's ridiculous.

I'm preordering these. It's manufactured by Wheel Mate of Japan under the name of Muteki. They aren't even out yet. They're due in the middle of September, this month. I'm getting the chrome titanium. Imagine the lug nuts below in the Kics Project R40 NEO Chrono lug nuts color(also a subdivision of Wheel Mate).

I don't know if I should just buy the Muteki one or save some more money to buy the Rays or Work one.
I have the chrome Muteki lugsnuts now, they're heavy and the some of the chrome is coming off already and some rust are started to show.

Mind you, I have the exact same rims as you do. :D

These new Muteki's are forged I think and weigh in at 2 oz. a nut. I doubt the chrome titanium finish will come off. RAYS are nice too, but Mutekis are price effective for what you get. Keep in mind, they also make the top end Kics Project R40 NEO Chrono Lug Nuts, which is far superior to any lug nut on the market short of full race nuts.
