    FolkenStrategos's Build thread

I am copying MacktasticSlick and Jspex. :rule: lol.

As you all know i got tired of my old red, black, white interior, so I upgraded to a sportier interior.

I also upgraded my suspension and wheels. I will take pictures when the weather gets better. A little too cold for my liking. More like a little too cold for my car, so I hate winter. A picture of my almost 2 years old wheels.
    Just never posted it.

The 1ZZ-FE that came with the car had issues. When i say issues, i mean, broken pistons and rods. So I bought a almost brand new one that had 22,000 miles on it, rebuilt it with
    4- 1 racing header,
Stage 2 cams, Wiseco Forged pistons,
    Darton sleeves,
    Reduced compression to 8.8:1,
    with 82.5mm pistons,
    Circuitworks oil pump.
    Valve Springs
    Titanium retainers.

That's all I can remember right now.
I do know that it is running without a Catalytic Converter and a custom O2 sensor simulator, Customized Option racing Cat-back from www.andysautosport.com. When I say customized I am referring to having 3 resonators and a Silencer just to shut the stupid 1ZZ-FE up. Bolingbrook ordinance requires 0 noise from your exhaust, and i got a ticket for it too........yeah. The resonators are actually two, but one is double the length of normal resonators, so it counts as three. :D.

    To be Continued i guess......

runs like poop in the suburb, but has decent passing power on the highways.
In an unrelated note, it sounds like it has a turbo. The exhaust whistles loudly at 3700 rpm and above. I will do a video sometime.

    Note***it's the silencer*** lol.

What is the point of lowering the compression?

How? I have been searching and searching but everything i find is usaully too short for our shifter. Do you have to cut down that metal bar beneath the brown plastic cover?

When you do any forced induction (turbo or supercharge) you increase the compression ratio when boosted. So people usually upgrade the internals by getting better connecting rods and getting pistons that decrease the compression ratio. This way the compression ratio is close to stock and your engine won't blow up in less than 20k miles

no cutting required. I just removed the old one and stuck on the boot and the shifter pictured below. Sometimes it shifts a little iffy because the spring and other components of the orig shifter are missing. I also had to wrap up the metal pole with tape so that the new shifter doesn't move around too much, but it looks a lot better than the original one.

I did a aftermarket with my shifter and put a button for my over drive but then it was giving me problems so I went back and reconnected to OD button , Now I dont have to worry about passing anyone any more cause the OD button is by my thumb :)

Oh...well, I really like that P, R, N, D, 1, 2 display. I want to keep that. I may just have it cut down to size, so it fits perfectly.

I originally just cut the wires and left them in the shift boot, but i recently put in a switch for the O/D. I never use it though.

That is the bad thing. You're going to lose that entire gear selector display because it will be hidden. But I like how it makes the car look like a stick.

I don't see any trash or anything, just some normal wear and tear in the footwells... Normal for a 10 year old car.

Soon. Still Contemplating Supercharger or Turbo.

Yeah, that's what winter does to the interior of your car, lol.

    No problem :)

Little update. Stopped by AMS today for a new toy, :grinyes: camera was being stupid, sorry.

Don't know if anyone noticed but there's an empty hole in my gauge pod, so it's going in there.

    D.I.Y: Black 98 - 00 Corolla Headlight Only.

1.) Remove the headlight from your car. Do it one at a time, especially if you
are male, lol, multi-tasking this won't turn out well.

2.) Clean the headlight because the next apple pie you make in your mom's
oven will have a dash of engine oil in it.

3.) Preheat Oven to 280 Degrees Fahrenheit.

4.) Remove the four metal clips on the edges of your headlight.

    5.) Put headlight into your oven for 10minutes + - 3 Minutes.

6.) Using a solid knife, pry apart the lens from the housing

7.) Mask the segmented reflective surface as shown. Leave the upper and
lower parts open. Leave the side reflective surfaces with lines in it open.
You should mask off the glue too just to make sure. I don't know what
will happen if paint gets in there, and I don't think I want to find out.

8.) Paint first coat lightly with "ColorPlace" Interior/Exterior Black Fast Dry
    Spray paint.

9.) Let the paint on the headlight Dry completely.

10.) Lay on a heavy Second Coat
    [IMG]

11.) Let the paint dry Completely.

    12.) Remove Masking tape

13.) Put lens back on the headlight housing "BEFORE" putting it back in the
oven. Push the lens as far into the housing as you can.

14.) Preheat Oven again, if it is off.

    15.) Put Headlight into oven for 5 minutes + - 3 minutes.

16.) Now push Lens into headlight housing all the way and put clips back on
    to the headlight.

17.) Jump for joy, you just saved yourself $130+
