go to an autoparts store and borrow a code reader at the least (or jumper in the diagnostics box under the hood, then count the flashes and look in Haynes manual for which code means what)

how shitty is it running now? a small difference or what? i am sure a difference between having a filter on or not is a difference, so is the difference from before the filter came off? did you take off the CIA and see if you got mud or anything in there? you might want to take off your throttle body and intake manifold and clean it all out. just make sure you buy gaskets before hand so when you put it all back together you have them, cause it takes like 2 days to get em from toyota. i had a small fraction of paper towel stuck in my throttle body and my car was major shitty... good luck I hope it isn't anything serious.. but i woouldn't drive it till you check it out.

jeez, i was gonna just start a post about this- my intake (i was using short ram b/f i did the switch over) fell off- (the whole thing fell off the throttle body) and it was sucking striaght air for about a 25 minute trip...the power was incredible actually! BUT, i started to hear a slight ticking noise- like that related to bad fuel or gas problems- now its not going away..wtf do i do?

i had the same thing happen to me, only it fell off when i touched it!!! lucky i was doing bumper work that day. Yeah, go with the diagnostic reader check. That should tell you the problem right away.

wow.. you guys must lift the hood and check out your engine a little more often... haha.... i'm a girl and i check my engine every week.. when you guys clean your engine bay you don't check your hoses and stuff to make sure you don't have bulges and that everything is on tight? maybe i am special.......

actually i check my engine bay after every trip i make- thats how risky my setup is! never know if a belt or a hose will pop out all of the sudden- like my parents say "your gonna destroy the car" -they are almost right..

My New, New hero. . . I Really don't have to look at my engine bay to often. Not like I have anything under there. all I have is an HKS drop-in air filter. I check the oils and fluids often, But's pretty much it. .
