    Exhaust and O2 help!

Ok, so two days ago my exhaust rusted off at the meet up fo the muffler, I guess when I got it replaced a few years ago, the guy put a shitty pipe. So today I got it replaced at a more reliable shop and the O2 sensor got messed up, and the guy didnt know where to do detach it to put a new one. The threads just won't let it thread into the new exhaust piping.

Will my car run all messed up until I get it fixed? The guy just plugged up the hole for now until I can get this done.

How much is a new O2 sensor?

Do I have to remove the passenger seat to change the O2 sensor?

Any and all help is appreciated.

    Thanks in Advance,

    John

wow..slow down mate..first off- what year? some newer models-perhaps 95 and up (i dont remember) have 2 o2 sensors- one on the manifold and one POST catalyic converter sensor...if the MANIFOLD one screws up=your in trouble=but that doesnt seem to be the issue- however, all i know is that with models with 2 o2 sensors- you can drive safely without the post working...all it will do is give you a "check engine" light and you will fail inspection... but replacing the o2 sensor is a b*tch... usually you have to remove the passenger seat or carpet to get to the connector.. and also, he broke the o2 sensor, or is it messed up to begin with? the new piping came with hole..but with bad threads?

I apologize for the confusion, haha. I was little upset at the matter. It's a 1996 dx. and it's the Post cat O2 sensor. The new pipe is fine but the actual sensor's threads got messed up. yeah I heard that you have remove the seat and stuff, but I'd be willing to go through that to make the car right again...

get the haynes manual- thatll help "a little" and the best thing is to have someone who's skilled in these affairs to help you...otherwise- be prepared to bring it into your dealer and spend about...aaah..say.. close to 200 bucks..
