    exhaust affects drivability...

Well I put my stock muffler back on today. The one I had was $40 canister style. The parking lot a work has a really screwed up entrance and it would bump and scrape the muffler so much that it came loose and started to vibrate against my bumper cover. eh.. you can imagine how annoying it was. Didn't do when I was on the highway, though if it were I would have gone completely crazy.

Aside from the vibrating noise being GONE it seems to shift smoother! I don't really know exactly why. It drives so much better than before. Like going into first was kind jerky and hesitant, now it's smoooooth. Anyone have any explaination for that?

I think it's probably just a sensation. car isn't really harder/easier to shift.. you just don't hear the engine as well so ya can't match-rev as well as before maybe

backpressure has nothing to do with it. its just that ist quite and you feel you can shift without any hassle or annoyance. since thursday of last week the accord has been running on an open header format. the cat gave out and OMG it fu_king loud! i can get past 2K rpm because it sound lound as hell and annoying. and the car barely moves and make a large amount of noise.

You might be right... :) I took the muffler off and drove home to pick up the stock one.. man, that was freakin' loud!

Yeah, hassle and annoyance are good words to describe it. haha
I like how it drives now... Maybe I'll get a TRD muffler one of these days, but for now it's stock. No more messin' around with B/S parts.
