    Engine mounts 01 corolla

    has anyone replaced the engine mounts on a 01 corolla i know something is wrong my engine moves so much when i shift from reverse to drive, its an auto and my friend told me that the engine mounts are what cause that also, how would i figure out which one it is

    rockauto.com often has them. There are 3 + 1 on the tranny. Also keep in mind they are different depending on the trans you have. Manual, 3spd AT, or 4spd AT. Mine are bad too, and it messed up my exhaust

    Do they make aftermarket poly mounts for our cars? My engine moves too much too and I want to get it stuck in place since its turbo'd. actually I think the turbo is responsible for killing the stock mounts :)

    the turbo has little to do with it. the mounts are just crappy in these cars. They are a common problem all the way back to the 7th gen, so Toyota did us a favor and didn't change them for the Gen 8. Mine are all crap too. They don't make poly mounts, but here's an idea. The one downside to poly mounts is they are pretty harsh becuase they are so stiff. I plan to get new stock mounts, and fill the gaps between the rubber parts with WindowWeld, which comes in a tube and is polyurethane. That will stiffen them significantly.
