damn. I went through another puddle. It was too dark to see. Idk about you guys but NJ bergen county nj is flooded. Now it won't start. I had to leave it and get picked up.

    engine flood

Hey I drove through a deep puddle and then my car turned off. It wouldn't start until about 15 minutes later. It wasn't performing right either. Does anyone know what happened? Do I have to get anything fixed? It is performing back to normal gradually. I'll have to wait and find out tomorrow morning. Any tips?

leave the car alone for awhile - you probably got water in it, which is something that can kill your motor. i'd suggest pulling out the plugs/injectors, as well.

pull out your dips tick and see if you have water in oil.

open the hood... take out the plugs... close the garage... and run a air drying machine (no idea what they are called) overnight and it should be good to go

stop driving through puddles and you wouldn't have this problem. if you see standing water, turn around and go elsewhere. there's a damned good chance you've completely borked your motor if you've driven through too many deep puddles and the car won't start.

why? it's just a car...and common sense would tell a person to avoid deep puddles.

How deep are these puddles? You know that rain guards are there for a reason.

i've researched and even took apart my dad's corolla to see where water could be leaking or getting in.. I have absolutely no idea why the car may be getting water inside.

The stock air intake is on the drivers side above the fender. How is water getting all the way up there? Those have to be some monster aquarium-size puddles.

You're going to have to tear the whole motor down and repair it or buy a new motor. Yes, you are screwed.

um, mother nature didn't make him drive through puddles. i realize that NJ has this "no left turn" problem, but still, he could have gone around them. :)

not like he'd have a choice in the matter. if he wants a car that WORKS properly, he's stuck with one of two expensive choices.

Although I admit it is fun to hit puddles hard to wash out the people on the sidewalks. haha I've been soaked to the bone before. It's cruel but hey it happens.
