Elite-Autosport may be willing to make a Turbo kit for our cars

Well here is the deal: I just spent about 3 hours at a local shop called Elite Autosport (www.elite-autosport.com). They do some AWESOME custom turbos and other mods for all types of cars. The end result was that it will cost me between $5500 and $6700 for a completely custom turbo kit, this includes installation, all fabrication, a new custom 2.5" full exhaust, custom header, pretty much top of the line everything else and several hours of dyno tuning by the same guy that tunes Brent Rau's Eclipse (www.osofastracing.com).

Now here is my quandary: Stafford + crappy customer service and a LONG wait time for a turbo=$3000-3500 + $787 to install and tune at the same shop. That is a total of $3787-4287 which is $1713-2413 cheaper that the full custom job. Now the shop said that they would be able to do a turbo kit including the exhaust for MUCH than what they quoted me if more than one person buys the kit from them.

The question I have for everyone is this: if I can get them to do a complete kit including the full exhaust system for $3500-4000 would you be interested?

I am asking this for two reasons:

1)$1500-$2500 is a LOT of money and if I can get some people to commit to buy the kit from Elite, I can get it done for much cheaper.

2)We need a quality alternative to the Stafford or full custom alternatives that are out there. From talking with them it seems clear that they will deliver a better overall product than what is currently available and there turn around time is 2-3 weeks for a kit as opposed to 8 @#&%*# months for the one from SF.

Please post any and all replies as I am trying to gauge interest in this product.

    Thanks!

IMHO, 6k is *way* too much for them to ask, even for one car. You need a custom turbo manifold anyways (unless you buy the one at MWR), so "custom header" doesn't matter..

If they can get down to 3300, people might consider it -- but for $6700, you can probably buy a 3sgte-equipped MR2.

Get it under 3500 for a *nice* kit...4k installed/tuned, and I'll consider it after I finish school.. :D

    In short: For 6700, no.
To answer your original question..3500-4000, installed, with mandrel bent exhaust? Heck yes!

$6700 is for a one of and that includes all installation, dyno time and tuning. I can get it for MUCH less if others buy the kit and they aren't just making one.

The price for just the kit would be below $4000 and would consist of significantly more than the SF kit--injectors, tuned e-manage, better bov, fuel return line, better BOV, upgraded fuel pump, etc. I agree, the price seems a little steep, but after talking to several places that said they can do it, talking to them and looking at their work, this is the only place within 800 miles that I trust and truly believe would do a really good job. The kit may be around $3500-$4000 by itself which is about what SF is asking for theirs with engine management. I will keep you posted.

    Heh, yeah.

Hmm..bored to 1.9l, low compression, a 35 shot to kill lag..that would work nicely. I need to hurry up and finish school. :p
