    i done an engine swap but now i've fitted an electronic distributer buy my rev gauge doesn't work. How will i be able to check if my wiring is all in order or how could i connected it up so that it works again. I've tried tracing wires but i cannot seem to find the problem. Please assist maybe i'm doing something wrong and also with the electronic distributor will my car cut out at redline as it doesn't do that at the moment well rev gauge don't work so can't check am afraid to push car to limit.

    Distributor Toyotas have a different tach than distributorless Toyotas in my experience. They are mostly the same, but need different resistors as the input signal is different.

    For example, here are the resistor changes for a MKIII Supra when swapping a Turbo motor (no distributor) into an N/A (distributor) chassis.

    Obviously your board and desired resistances are going to be different, that picture is just illustrative.

    You will probably need to swap a tach from the chassis your engine came from (or another distributorless ignition Toyota with the same number of cylinders) so it will understand the ECU. Your wiring could be correct.


    Regarding your second question, if you are running all of the correct factory components on your new engine, then yes, there should still be a rev limiter.

    Oh, I brought this up because of all the fast food places, they have the most restaurant-like fries. Although admittedly inferior to the type to which you were referring.

    Yeah, like I said, only REAL fries. I had 5-guys once, but only a single burger. It was meh. But I'm not really into burgers or anything like that. I eat fries for the ketchup lol.
