    E. L. Cold Air Intake

I was wanting to get a CAI and E.L. Prototypes makes the only one for my car. So I want to know from the people who have it how well does it perform compared to all the SRIs that are out there?

I have the e.l prototype CIA and it is really nice.... i remeber when i first got it , people could hear it sucking in so much air that they would ask me if i had a turbo on it ( like people standing outside starbucks, not modders or ricers) it does give you a little bit more power.. I give this intake a AA++ the first intake i bought for my car was a cheap one.. they said it was for my car.. but when i opened the box there is no way to put the sendor on it.. so i had returned that and went with E.L.

hey laura .....or you could get a better setup from sfxracing they have a kit that has multiple parts to create your own type of intake setup http://www.sfxperformance.com/parts/SPT8810.htm ...... thats what I'm looking at doing.....since I'm planning to have a tube run right behind my passenger side headlight and the other either run down to where my resonator box is from my stock intake or just have it going straight down...... the kit to design your own setup is about $10 dollars just look up corolla intakes ........ The way it works is that you make the design you want and then ship in the parts and the company spectre will make the intake tubing exaclty the way you want it...

i dont think you will have a problem with puddles since the area where the filter sits is protected by splashguards (although flimsy and plastic, they block water spray very well).

also, short ram (not ram air) intakes make your car slower. SLOWER.

i haven't had a problem with puddles.. but i don't go through huge bodies of water.. i will avoid them, but my car is lowered really low too... i don't have a bypass on it, I live in California, we don't get too much rain here anyways. I do think it is a good investment though.. and yeah vamp did have it on his car... and thats where i found it at.. on vamps site.. and i went to e.l prototypes and bought it. it has a nice K&n filter that comes with it too. wish you luck !!

    Snow and CAI??

I live in ND and we get alot of snow in the winter. 6 inches of snow or more isn't usual at all here. Would snow effect the CAI in anyway? If you still have that one for sale let me know because I'm interested.
