I know that your average shop will charge you about $50-75 a door to have power door locks added. That would inclued the actuator and installation. I can imagine it would be a little more for them to install the tracks and the relay switches for the windows, but it should still be much cheaper than buying a whole door, even from a junkyard. If you get the new doors, the wiring harness and relays would be from the car with the powered doors as there is no need for these things in a door that has no electrical devices in it.

And youd have to paint the new doors as well...

    Door swap... Does it work?

Okay this is what I am trying to do. I want power windows and locks. If I go to a junkyard or something and find some doors that were power and switch them out with my manual door will it give me power windows and locks easily??? It should be a relatively easy swap out no?

You'll need all the wiring harnesses and relays too. They're tucked away in the drivers side kick panel.

The wiring harness and relays are in the powered door or non powered that I will need to take them from?

Before you get into the option of switching out the entire door, just go to a shop and get an estimate on how much theyd charge you to make your doors power....

sorry to hijack the thread but i am also looking into this but wouldn't the doors panels be enuff rather than the whole door I mean I've been out to shops too see how much it would cost to get an alarm with power windows and locks here and to add switches and everything i know how much i am lookin at but wouldn't gettin door panels that have the switches already so all the shops have do to is wire it up to teh switches after installin the actuator and railing and whatnot ?

So far the shops around here want to charge me about $100 a door to put actuators in and to add aftermarket power windows around $300 a window to power it... On that note that seems a bit expensive to me

daym man that is expensive here its like 70 per window and about 40-45 for power lock conversion. If you can and have the time go out of your area and search some more.

Yeah, if you get the door panels, switches and relays, all you would need to have a shop do is install the actuators and railings. I know I can get a whole door panel with switches and all for about $100 from local junkyards.

That,s retarded. When I went to put power door locks in my girlfriends car, the HIGHEST quote I got was $75 a door, most places were closer to $60. And $300 a window is a joke. Tell them where they can sick their actuators and find a place that can do it for a reasonable price.
