Anyone here played Doom 3 yet? I have and I have to tell you guys that its one of the best shooters I have ever played. Graphics are awesome, suspensful, scary. This game is awesome. Its sorta like Diablo 2 with guns or Red Faction mixed with Diablo 2. THIS GAME MAKES HALO LOOK LIKE POKEMON!!!!!!.

Halo is pokemon. period. UT was the king for years along with quake and the orginal dooms.

But i am getting it tonight and playing it on my parents computer since i don't exactly have the funds to upgrade my computer yet :roll:

It's going to cost me about $250 to play, because i've got to get a new vid card.

dontchu need AT LEAST a P4. with the 9800 Radeon i think?

yes a pentium 4 or amd Athalon XP 1500 + is needed to run the game

Radeon 8500 and newer video cards are supported by the game as is the GForce 4 with at least 64 MB of video memory.

I was told this game involves monsters sneaking up on u and u getting mauled? he said it was really kinda lame? any truth?

When there is a monster behind you, you can hear him walking or running. But doom 3 is like playing a movie.

I'll confirm it. Monsters do sneak up on you and suddenly appear. However, this game truly does involve strategy and being careful. If you run into a fight with just a pistol like in Halo and expect to win in this game, you'll be killed in 5 seconds. If anyone gets it, try playing it in the dark with surround sound at night. The game is creepy. Especially in Alpha labs 2. Im probably about 1/4 of the way done with the game.

There wouldn't be such hype over the game if it wasn't good. I can't say though since I haven't played it, but when high end hardware prices are being affected (increase), then you know the game is something worth mentioning.

Did anybody get to HELL yet? Its amazing. I am almost done with the game now, LOL. I build the computer just to play doom 3 on. AMD ATHLON 64 3200+ OCd to 3600+, RADEON 9800 OCd to XT and 1 GB of PC3200 KINGSTON RAM. Game runs sweet.

oh yes i just got that game... scared the shit outta me... man the AI in this system is amazing.
too bad that it kinda runs slow on my computer... although i did upgrade teh system to run the ff11 smooth at high resulution..

have to figure that out.

this game is not scary people. Playing FPS all my life THIS GAME IS NOT SCARY. I went to hell and came back. Hell was really pathetic in a sense. They just used a dark mid evil theme. I would rather them use a hell theme. Like tourchered soals everywhere sounds of tourchered people. That kind of shit.

The only thing that freaked me out not scared. was i have been playing doom 3 the past 3 nights and this last night when i went to bed i had this dream i was looknig for artifacts and i found the 3rd clue but out of no where BAM a loud ass banging noise hit my ears and i woke up. I thought i went deaf. But i didn't

But this game is long for a FPS. Usually i would have beat it by now but it actually has a story and you can choose how you want to beat the game. There are 2 paths in the middle of the game.

Right when you think you beat the game you haven't lol. Right now i think im trying to stop the portal from the source. I am in the planets core almost.

i beat it finally.. it was a good game and iw ould reccomend it to any doom enthusiasts out there.. as far as gameplay.. take the game very slow and you will not have a problem .. and to people who want to play... i ran on a 64 mb geforce 440 mx video card if that tells you anything (at low resolution however) and i had no problems.. was a GREAT game .. much better than HL2 when it comes out..

The game kicked ass in SP, but the MP is SEVERELY lacking.....Doom's MP is a chore, with terrible server issues, limited game types, etc.....It's got nothing on a game like Halo's MP, where you can literally be playing for months with different experiences every time.

the whole point of ID releasing doom 3 was to give the makers of quake and other people that use ID's engine of what it can do. Q4 i can see comming out in a year or 2

The game is beautiful, graphics are amazing, but it gets boring quickly, AI sucks bad, and it has a really scripted feel i cant play for longer than an hour without getting bored. I'm happy but HL2 is going to blow this out of the water. Nice try id...

Oh yeah, the weapons sounds suck too, and the weapons models do not look realistic at all. Things should have been fixed that were fixed in other games from previous generations, There is little to no interation with the environment, except for a cheesy box or chair that moves around, you cant break anything..... You shoot a box and it makes a bullet mark on it like one in the walls. This is all made up for by the theatricallity and coolness of the demons.
I cant imagine this game having much replay value.

ugh come on guy. The whole point of the game was to be able to play a game that was like a movie. And ID did a great job of doing that.
