The 1.93L big bore kit is for all 1ZZFEs. And the parts from monkey wrench racing are cheaper than that package on the other site.

I would be able to use the big bore kit on my car even if it's not vvti?? And I was also wondering if I would be able to swap out my tranny for the 2zz tranny??

    98corollaturbo,

i have seen that website. I'd give it some investigation. It seems like they know what they're doing. From what I've heard the turbo kit is no good. The turbo manifold isn't good at all and there are fitment issues with the turbo kit's plumbing. Although, it does seem as though they have a thorough N/A tune up kit. 11.1:1 compression ratio sounds sick as hell!! but give monkeywrench racing a try also and compare their parts list for NA tuneup

Will boring the 1ZZ to 2L require other stuff to be changed/Modified, like the ECU, VVT-i etc.?

A friend of mine told me I would also need to change out to larger fuel injectors, is that true?

Be prepared to spend a lot of money. I'm guessing 2-3000 bucks at one time. The power gain won't be as significant as forced induction either. It's more cost effective to turbo, supercharge, or just go high compression with cams and/or ITBs.

i wouldnt raise the red line untill you beefed up your valvetrain and probably balanced your bottom end. yes you will need more fuel w/ bigger cylinders , you will also need more air with that fuel , so honing out your throttle body , and porting your head wil be another option for more power.

dang, if you're willing to spend that much money to sup up your Corolla for just speed, i think you should have bought something else. For the money you're spending, you could go out and buy a stock car that run over it's face. Sti, Evo, GTO, 350Z, VR-4, like 90% of my friends have. I just admist that i have a Corolla and it looks good. I'm not racing any one anytime soon unless i win the lottery or strike gold.

    Just a thought.

i dont think you can get a sti, evo or 350z for the price of turbo'ing a corolla.

It depends on your budget but you can find some nice deals out there. I've found a 2003 WRX for 8000 once. Clean title and babied, but the owner had to sell quick and didn't care much about profit.

The lowest I've seen for an STI was 10,000. Considering I can't afford the STI, I'd have to get the WRX. The 4EAT transmission is better anyways. :D hehe Couple that with Cobb stage 3 (or is it up to 4 now) and it outclasses the STI.

Uh, i was getting ready to say that same thing. A friend wanted to sell me his 04 STI for 11,000 and it only had 31k miles. You can def. get them cheaper than you think, you just have to look.

Plus, you won't just be spending the money on a turbo kit, you have to include maintenance and everything else breaking down on it.
