documented work on the mr2 (mainly for dr. tweak) 56K warning

these are old pictures.... he had shown some mr2 work that he did... thought i would show the way i did things.... (big tools are nice :) )

first time putting the motor & tranny in together (motor hasn't come out, tranny has, though).... all done w/o help:

(random picture, anyone interested in MS this is a shot of the trigger wheel & VR sensor mounted on my 4agze.... you would need to do similar)

SC tranny axles (if you've seen 4/7afe or 4age axles, you'll see a huge difference)

Pulling the tranny (this is the 2nd time i had to pull the tranny, i didn't have pics from the first time)

    Clutch in my mr2:

    putting it back:

I use 4 tie down straps (each with a 300lb workload weight, 900lb breaking strength) to pull the tranny up to the level of the motor, climb under, push the tranny onto the motor, bolt it up, then jack the motor/tranny up fully (motormount stays in place, i use it to pivot the motor up and down in place)

    another random picture.....

a friend was planning to build a 4agte and looking for over 300whp... until he bought a honda..... he sold this block to an ae86 guy.... but it's quite possibly the NICEST 4ag block i've ever seen....

Cool, thanks for the pics :) I appreciate the large blocks under the jackstands heheh, there's no room to pull the engine though the top in these, unless you pull the tranny first I guess?

Those axles, are they the E58 or the E51 axles? It looks like you have a pretty nice little garage to work in, a lot of stuff in there though! Heheh Also how do you like that clutch?

Also I'm probably going to be hitting you up for your MS expertise, I have a silvertop here that's going to be getting the full treatment including EDIS, all the parts are already on the way.

i'm helping someone with a silvertop for MS & edis as well...

the garage is small..... the mr2 just makes it look bigger...... & yeah, i've got quite a few decent tools here..... they help a lot

the clutch is hard to drive.... literally.... the pressure plate is also a TRD japan piece... i have to use the force of my back against the seat to push it down..... it grabs almost fully less than an inch off the floor......

    they are e51 axles

you can only pull the motor through the top w/o tranny if you remove the manifolds
