    Doctors Notes...

alright, this is for those of you who work

how thorougly investigated are doctors excuses? do employers actually call and verify or do they just "take your word for it" im sure it varies, but on a general level how does it work?

At my last workplace, they typically went by doctors' notes. I'm sure it varies elsewhere, though.

my work has always been a trust based thing until you sick for a third day in a row. Then you need a note. Of course if you're "sick" too often then management may look into your "illness" more...

Not sure the legalities of this....doctor/patient confidentiality may force an employer to take the notes word for it.
