but you need more water than food. the body can survive much longer without food as long as there's fresh water available.

We are the type of people who will give whatever we have so that others can survive. How long would it last i dunno we have so much junk food i my ovesized kitchen we can probabaly feed the neighborhood for a while! LOL! serously i dunno how long it would last but for a long while i know.

ummmm, I have water, flashlights, candles, extra propane, all the papers (vet records, insurance papers, birth certificates and marriage licenses, etc) in plastic bags in a backpack in case of evacuation, canned food, cups, paper plates, tools, duct tape, a fire extinguisher, a fully charged laptop battery, and about 3 days before the storm I fill the gas tanks of both the rolla and the truck.

It's more of a mundane drill down here now.

    1. Pull out the supplies
    2. fill up the gas tanks
    3. hit up the video store
    4. hit up the ATM for cash just in case
    5. buy some alchy and food
    6. dig in and chill for 48 hours till it's over

Well, after 4 hurricanes last year, and two this year (only in Broward County), I've had lots of practice. :D Plus Rodd taught me well about Hurricane preparation, so I learned from one of the best. :D :D

I'm 5 miles from the coast....close enough that if they said a cat 5 was gonna come at us, I'd evac. to somewhere inland or west of here definitly.

i am under the assumption that its just as flat there as it is here.over here its ust flat lands, literally the only "hills" we have are the interstate overpasses and stuff like that.

theres a slight grade that bumps us over sea level.....but other than that it's pretty flat.
