Cost: Free, if you have fabric laying around. Less than $2 if you have to buy from walmart.
Materials: Scissors, Fabric of your choice/color. I picked green velvet because thats what I had laying around.

Step 1: Cut a rectangular piece slightly larger than the plastic thing that the stock shift boot straps to

Step 2: Cut a hole in the middle

Step 3: With the hole over the shifter, Tuck the sides around the plastic thing and cut 4 small holes so the 2 prongs on the front and back can slide through.

Didnt really take a picture (sorry)

Step 4: tuck the excess inside and screw your shift knob back on.

Note: if you don't have a short shifter, leave more excess.

yeah...and it covers up that big ass gaping hole I had in my center console. I'm going to change the fabric material, I just wanted to see if this would actually work first.

the shift boot I have keeps popping out from underneath that piece of plastic trim. its a pain in the ass and i have to use a screwdriver to force the leather into the space under the trim. But my car is an automatic, so Im just posing haha

youre not on crack. my s2k is at my dads house.....in Hawaii. It won't pass Colorado emissions, and I can't afford to ship it here for a while (because the quote was outrageously high w/ full coverage insurance, something like 8,000+ insurance through the company and state farm).

The numbers it was throwing out for emissions i'd have to get like 5 catalytic converters put on it for it to pass here....lol let me see if I can find the sheet they gave me when they ran hawaii emissions.

Wow thats crazy! So youre still keeping and toying with the Corolla then?? I hope so. There arent many of us around anymore and it sucks.

And I will be a very angry person the day we have emissions here.

I have to stick with my corolla in CO till I can figure out why it won't pass emissions. I put on a new cat converter, and still was spewing out global warming. But hawaii doesn't have emissions so its no big deal for my dad to drive it...and I go back3-4 times a year or so.
