$100 is a nice price for that. I've seen it before, but what does it do for you? Other than looks benefits, it's probably heavier than the original plastic.

yeah... i have it installed =] i installed in on wednesday! =] it's alrite.. not that crazy.. TRD really didnt' do a good job on the clear coat for the carbon fiber.. and the carbon fiber pattern is a little off on the curves and edges.. i think it's grade B carbon fiber because it's not even smooth or rounded on the edge.. it's ruff cutted on the edge of the engine cover....

Woohoo 60% lighter then stock OMG the stock peice only weighs like 1 or 2 Lbs so WOO take a freakin dump before you go race and theres your weight savings right there, FOR FREE! If anyone is that worried about weight wouldnt you want to just take the engine cover off completely. For one its only for looks, and for two, NO engine cover will always be lighter then a CF cover. So you could save $100 and 100% of the weight, WHAT KIND OF DEAL IS THAT, seems good to me. If you really want to save a pound, you might as well just take the floor matts out or something, and thats a FREE mod, heck, i bet you could even sell them on Ebay and MAKE some money, and end up saving more weight then the gay ass engine cover could ever do.

Ok, sorry for the rant guys, but I just think if you buy that cover for ANY reason besides looks, your wasting your money. Dont get me wrong, it looks great, even i like it. But TRD's trying to market it as a performance thing, and that just annoys me. And $100 for something that only looks good when you pop your hood every once in a while just isnt worth it, IMO.

    Ok im done now

The S/C is over $2550 and it only looks god when you pop your hood every once in a while. But it's worth it....! hehe. Actually that's what the carbon-fiber valve cover was designed. The supercharger blocks the stock cover and so you're forced to make some cuts yourself, which can sometimes get really ugly. The CF valve cover allows you to hid the ugly mess of wires there without having to make an incisions for the supercharger. Admittedly, TRD could have chosen a higher grade carbon-fiber material or simply a better manufacturer who would roll the cf around the edges, but it still serves its primary function, which is to provide a cover for the valves on supercharged vehicles.

But you buy a SC to give the car some BALLS, not just to make the engine good.

And I agree, the CF cover dose serve its purpouse, which is to make the engine look better, not make the engine or the vehicle perform better.

CF Hood Looks Good. Especially with the S/C

The CF Hood looks much better than the stock cover. And it is lighter, not that it really matters. It is a nice addition with my S/C 8) . However it just make the engine this blah black color. My original cover was painted red with white lettering, and I also had the sweet chrome Injen intake which gave it a lot of character. However, I can't really complain. Character doesn't launch the car.

Re: CF Hood Looks Good. Especially with the S/C

So go paint over the CF VALVE COVER (not hood) then. Just cover up the TRD letters and paint over the cover. I don't know if you have to use some special paint or anything, but if you just want to have something that doesn't look all screwed up with the supercharger, then I see no reason why you can't buy a CF cover and paint it to the color you want.

I just can get up the nerve to do it yet

I dunno KingKuei. I just can't get up the nerve to paint over the "TRD". It just looks so cool :D , yet it is so blah  , but then again ...... . It's like my right hand has the paint can, and my left is blocking the nozzle.

Do first and ask questions later... err... feel regretful later... err... like buy a new CF cover cuz you don't like your paint job! HEHE

I'll wait until at least the summer

I think I'll make it a summer project to paint that thing. It so silly, you really don't ever see it unless your looking under the hood. Although I have found myself staring at my engine for hours at a time. Am i nuts  ?

I told my wife last night that my S/C was calling me in the middle of the night... pssst :D .....pssst  ......pssst :D .....pssst.......pssst......its a 5 speed you know.

Hey I just put in my CF valve cover about 10 minutes ago. I had a question about the spacers. I have 4 thick spacers and 4 thin washers. What was the order of stuff from engine to the top of the cover? Here's what I have right now:

Engine --> CF Valve Cover --> thick spacers --> thing washers --> top screw

KingKuei. Thick Spacers, then CF Cover, then thin washers, then top screws

    Re: CF Cover

That's what I was thinking originally. I guess one of the 4 screws is messed up. I didn't want to put the thick space between the engine and cf cover cuz i was worried that it would slide off whenever i try to remove the cover. I'll get a picture of what's messed up when I can.
