    OK.

So my Rolla is a combination Show Car and performance tuner. I want to upgrade the brakes on all four corners. I want to put a Big Brake Kit on the front, and do the rear disk brake conversion on the rear. Given that I can't afford to do everything at once, the question is which should I do first?

    Here's the trade-offs:

A Big Brake Kit will improve braking performance but will cost about $950, give or take. A rear disk conversion will cost about $500 give or take, and will look good for show purposes, but won't do much for improving the Whoa Gear.

So, which should I do first? :superconf

Rear disc brake conversion first. It is the bigger change of the two. It will actually improve your braking system by a whole lot, if you have same size rotors as the front. It improved mine to insane proportions at least. Braking from 60 - 0 in about 127 feet. Approximately + - 10ft.

Actually, converting the rears to disc doesn't show a huge difference unless you're using the braking system to the limit, such as at autocross. I would say do the fronts first.

I love his corolla its so damn sexy! Thats actually one that got me motivated to go with the red/goldish theme on my car. But now I have gunmetal rims. Oh well. Id go with the rear disc conversion if I were you

from his sig picture, looks like he only has wheels and is lowered. i think he has slip on seat covers, but that hardly makes a car a "show" car.

ikon for some reason can be a dick. he does point out something true most of the time. It's his "Dr. House method".

No, but doing the rears just to look nice without really improving the braking is just a waste of money.

I LOL. But it's the most effective. Sarcasm can go a long way.

key words are "toyota meet", which is hardly a real show against real show cars. there's just more needed to be considered a show car in my opinion. anyone can lower a car and put wheels on it, but do real mods. just saw your cardomain and the list of "mods" is funny. oil cap, air filter, gold badges, "bad boy" horn are not mods. Even some of the others are so, so if in a real car show. maybe the standards are lower in virgina compared to the west coast.

if saying the truth is being dick, than so be it because someone needs to say it. maybe i'm filling the gap left from turbo4age since he hasn't posted in a while. i have been through fixing up cars from simple mods to full conversions so i don't mind pointing out the truth in things.

Standards are lower in most parts of the country.. Just look at car show pics from regional fourms and you'll see what I mean. sometimes you still see pics of cars with primered bodykits, suricide doors, and flip flop trunks.. it's no spocom or sema
