Decided on two engine options to swap into my Corolla, help me decide...

    Either the 3.0 3VZGE from a Lexus:

Or the 3.5 5VZGE from the Hilux:

I'm sorta leaning towards the 3VZGE because I think it will rev happier... plus being that it's already in FF platform (I'm pretty sure) it will simplify some things (such as the intake manifold, using the Hilux manifold the intake piping would have to wrap around the back of the engine...), and it looks nicer too ;)

if the 3vzge (inline-right?) is a dohc thats pretty good. but a 4 cam v6 from the hilux is more capable of more higher end power and personally i think its stronger, but its your choice.
The 3vzge if it is an inline will produce more torque take a look at the 2ZGFE i think thats it comes from the new avalon. think about what you want more torque=inline dohc, wide power band and adequate torque= 4 cam v6 not sohc either way take your pick. take an avalon v6 they have more than adequate power and torque and are capable of producing much more.

Both of these engines are quad cam V6 engines, the 3.5 from the Hilux is basically a stroked version of the first one. The car will be a totally stock-looking mid-90s Corolla or Geo Prizm (more likely). I'll get the specs on the engines.

Also I may very well be running a standalone on the engines if I can't get the ECU to behave (because it will be looking for an auto tranny).

I have a feeling that we're going to be seeing more of each other shortly... :D

how about mine? it needs a new engine and there is not one in there right now. j/k i will be investing in a new engine later.

You may have a V6 but there is a local guy here that has his 02 prizm fitted with a 350 small block, fuel injected. it hauls major a**. Plus i have seen 1.8 Rollas take out cars much faster than any person can anticipate.

    I know I was playin lol IF I would ever fit a V6 motor I'd go with a 1JZ hehehe :D

I just want my Corolla to hit up around 400 whp and I don't think the current motor will do justice.... I don't THINK so I might be wrong. I talked to Doc hurr about a 3s-gte swap on the car but then it wouldn't be a Corolla it would be an MR2 pretty much just 4 door lol

A V6 swap is much more feasible than a straight 6 (2JZGTE) swap. With a straight 6 you would need to make the car RWD.
