cv joint problems, looking for axel installation tips

i had a inner cv joint blow 5 days ago. hit a pothole really hard with a broken rear engine mount (another thread) i've been limping it to work (3 miles). i hear a rumbling plus a vibration from that side, which is to be expected. only when i turn hard and gas is when the flat tire rumbling shit starts.

1)how bad is this damaging my diff? should i replace anything else?

ive read about replacing half shafts on non toyotas cant find nothing on a 8th gen..

    what i gotta know?

when you get it done if they say only replace 1 replace both at the same time if ur car is in the high 70-100k it is worth it to change out gonna be a pretty penny though

    Get it inspected now!!!!
Once you know what's damaged and what's needed to be replace, just buy the parts and do it yourself.

ive done them before but not on a rolla some cars are very difficult if you can get a lift SO MUCH easier. some require the suspension to be taken off but idk on the rollas but again get both of them dont just replace one. napa i think sells remans or maybe only new ones for like 200 a piece

It's actually really easy for the 8th gen. just put the car up on the jack stand and make sure to drain the trans fluid and diff. fluid/ put a drain pan at least because the fluid will spill. the hardest part is separating the axle from the hubs. if you try to undo the tie rod end you will rip the boot or the grease will come out. when i took mine off i just removed the bolts for the strut and pulled the two apart. that is actually after using a punch to loosen the axle from the hub. then after it's off the hub use a pry bar and pop the inner side off the diff. that's about it in a nut shell...
