    CPU cooling.

What brand/setup is the uhh... offers the most efficient cooling for the buck... (if that makes any sense) Im talking about heat-sink, fans, and that gel/ceramic thing that goes between the cpu and the heat-sink. I want to upgrade my cooling system before i OC. I will probably make another thread about OverClocking later on...

oh man... I used to be into this soo much haha

I had a custom Swiftech Dual 72 watt peltier which was watercooled with ice water and powered by a fisk tank pump. OC'ed my Pentium III 650E to 1075MHz... OC'ed my old Voodoo3 video card as well. Redundant power supplies, I had 14 case fans in total. My computer tower sounded like a jet fighter every time it started up :D Those were the days..

These days, I don't do anything since upgrading to a faster component is so much cheaper compared to a few years ago. I just run a quiet 120mm case fan and leave it at that.

if you want the best quality cpu cooler, go buy a cpu coolant cooler at Fry's for around i think 200-300 bucks. but don't waste your money if you have a crappy ass computer cause that just be silly.

I usually buy a Sunon or Swiftech and use a 80mm to 120mm fan adaptor with 120mm fan for air cooling. For some thermal compound, Artic silver is pretty good. What kind of PC hardware are you planning to overclock anyways?

I have an Arctic Freezer Pro on my E2180 - they run less than 30 bucks, and I have no complaints. 40+ hours running a stress test, and I'm still rock-solid at 3Ghz.

Im not looking to spend $200 on cooling, thats for sure. I will probably upgrade my heatsink and processor fan, add the arctic freezer, and see how well it does. Currently, I have one fan on the side pulling air in, the PS fan cooling the ps and pushing air out, and one at the rear pushing air out. I will look if I can put another fan in front of the case for pulling air in.
