Couple of quick oil change questions....

I'm going to do my first-ever oil change over to Mobil 1 in a few days, so a couple of questions for you more experienced folks.

    Important questions
    1. Is it four quarts for our cars?
    2. Should I bother with a filter wrench? Or should I be able to remove the old filter and replace the new one by hand?
    3. What size is the drain plug?

    Not so important questions:
    - What filter do you use? I'm going to use the K & N (HP-1003).
    - For you lowered S owners (particularly S.Tech lowered S owners), do the 8000lb Rhino Ramps work for fine for you?

    1. i use exactly 4 quarts and its full on the dip stick its probably like 4.2 to be exact but its not gonna hurt to be .2 quarts under as long as you change it at regular intervals.

    2. a filter wrench makes it easier but the filter is so tiny you should be able to get your hand around it and take it off.

    3. drain plug is a 14 millimeter socket

Actually i think its only like 3.8 or 3.9. But i just put 4 quarts in. I think everyone dose, no need to fus over .1 or .2 quarts. Plus your probably really putting 3.9 in anyway after you added up all the oil that never drains out of the containers.

I use the Toyota filters, there cheap and good.

If you plan on doing your own oil changes from now on, I would go ahead and buy a filter wrench, it makes things a lot easier. Getting the filter off by hand is kinda trickey because its kinda tight in there and its a little hot. If you do get a filter wrench, I would sudgest the cup type, Its the easiest to use and is easiest to fit into that tight space.

If you dont get a filter wrench before you change your oil this time. I would sudgest that loosen your filter first, before you drain your oil. That way you dont drain all your oil out and then figure out you cant get your filter off.

When i changed my oil the first time, the car still had the filter on from the factory. And it was super hardcore fucking tight!!! Me or my friend couldnt get it to budge at all. We finally went and got his buff ass brother to see if he could get it off for us. He even strugled with it for a few minuts. When we finally got the filter off it was completely crushed from griping it with pliers and squeezing so hard.
