agreed. manually shifting an automatic only guarantees you'll be replacing it before long.

So what :) I can make my Manual shift like an automatic. I just hold the clutch in for like a half hour and then ride it for a little while until it engages :) Hehe just kidding.

its simple, floor it, then right before you think its gonna shift, if you have a tach, right around 5800-6000 rpms(thats how it is on mine) let go of the gas then floor it right away again...

btw, thats an old vid, i did a cluster swap already... i have a tach now...

Just floor it, it'll be a tenth or 2 faster :p

Anyone with a 3 speed automatic Corolla (93-97 for sure, not sure about the 98+) ever realize that wheny ou are just flooring it, it shifts from 2nd to 3rd at about 117kmh? Well, if you put it in 2nd and floor it, you can bring it up to the rev limiter (about 136~137kmh), so just push it into D at around 133kmh and you won't hit the rev limiter, and you'll accelerate quite a bit faster :) its fun doing that against sunfire gt's and cavalier z24's and seeing the driver wondering why he can't pass this old corolla... hehe...

    what do you mean "works"?

why do you want your car to sound like a manual?
