    Converting MAF to MAP

Has anyone converted their MAF sensor to a MAP sensor on Corollas?
Is this posible? I hear that a MAP sensor las longer.

Using MAP also has less airflow restriction than MAF-- however, it's not as simple as replacing a single sensor, as the ECU won't be able to react properly-- MAP is based on a system of variables rather than a single signal.

You would need a stand alone engine management system to do that, although I think I read something about the new Greddy eManage Ultimate being able to translate MAF to MAP.

I believe that both sensors function somewhat differently and probably not ‘modifiable’.
The MAP and IAT sensors on the ‘98 & ‘99 were replaced with one MAF sensor in 00 and later from my understanding.
MAP measures air pressure in TB and IAT measures air temperature in the air filter box, but MAF is used in 00+ engines and is 'heated' to determine readings.

Depending on the ECU, it may take more than just knowing the manifold absolute pressure to perform the proper engine management operations. Just "converting the signal" is not going to cut it.
