    Concern with my tokico struts

I have only had my tokicos on my car for about a year now and when ever i go over a speed bump I can hear air discharging from the struts. They also do this when im driving on a bumpy road or a road that is not very smoothly paved for that matter. Is it suppose to make a sound at all???

It's normal. It's the sound of the valves inside the stuts.

It's just more noticable on the Tokico's for some reason.

My Tokicos blew after 2 months on the car, but I think it was caused by a bad installation of the stut or my springs. Now, the shop where I got the work done isn't trying to replace anything for me and Tokico says the problems I describe sound like a bad installation and therefore aren't covered under their warranty. Anybody else had problems with their Tokicos blowing?

I really want to buy some quality parts this time, because I don't want to have anymore problems.

I'm not a big Tokico fan anymore, and switched back to KYBs after I had issues with them.

I know KTBs ride softer than the Tokicos, but is there a difference in cornering ability?

^^ I'm not even sure if that's true (I know thats the common conception here, but I have yet to see numbers to prove it). Someone REALLY need to run those two struts through a shock dyno, or at least email those company and ask what spring rates were they valved to receive.

But if Tokicos is valved to run higher spring rates (stiffer), then when paired with the correct set of springs, it would improve cornering by decreasing body roll.

After riding in full coilover/dampener suspension, I would never go back to a strut/spring combo.

Hey! Don't bring any parts to class unless you bring enough for EVERYBODY!

my tokico's have been fine for 6 months now. the 'pssht pssht' sound is kinda cool, imo, and is a tiny bit louder than when it started out.

anyone know how long thes struts are rated to last for?

he was saying this is a forum about tokico struts, and that we all know that coilovers are higher quality, and that comment wasnt needed here, unless everyone here could afford them.
