    Concealed carry in MD?

Does anyone know what the laws/details are in MD as far as getting and maintaining a concealed firearm permit?

What would it take for a civillian to get a permit?

A civilian cant get a CCW.....Maryland is the strictest state in the USA to get a CCW.

You have to be carrying large sums of money to and fro a bank/your business.
You have to be a police officer
You have to be a business owner
You have to have proof that your life has been in danger, and even then, it will take a long while to get a CCW.

So basically....your chances of getting one is very, very very slim.

The process is really long too...gotta go get fingerprinted at a local states barrack, fill out the background investigation forms, and get an FBI background check. Its also expensive...I think its about 145 for the initial application, and if you are rejected, you dont get that money back. Then every two years you have to renew it at 80 bucks.

Lame... So once you cross into MD you've got to have the gun properly stored in a case?
I wonder what DE and PA have for laws...
Here in AK you don't have to have a CC permit!

PA laws are pretty leniant, but you have to be a state resident to have a CCW.

And Maryland does NOT honor out of state residents with CCW...so you have to leave your sidearm at home, or have it in a locked case, in your trunk, and you have to have a reason to be carrying it with you. IE...to and from a competition, a shop, etc.
