    Cold Air Intake question

Just installed an Injen CAI on an S. After installing, it idles like shit, sputters and wants to die. Very very low idle. What can it be?

Sorry for the newbie question, I dont own a Corolla, I own a Celica All-Trac. Dont know why it would act up.

sounds like the MAS is unplugged or damaged. make sure all the hoses and plugs are in.

I double checked EVERYTHING. The CAI I had came with a sensor, I just took it out and gently placed it on the workdesk. After I took out the stock air box and what not, I took that sensor out and put it in the CAI after everything was set. Idled like crap, tested the one that came with the CAI, crap too.

The car runs fine if you drive it and what not, just idles like crap and I dont like it. If anything, I will just put it back to stock and get rid of the Injen intake. No sense in going thru all this trouble, I already have an All-Trac, that's bad enough.

Oh well, thanks for the reply... I am gonna call the dealer tomorrow to see how much a new MAF is. Conicelli Toyota has em for 108.

when my MAS burned it cost 84.00 from the dealership. you might want to check around on price. hopefully it is just something else.

Thanks... I see your location as OC. Orange County, CA?

I will make a few calls tomorrow to see what I can do... if anything I will just put it back to stock and take it to the dealer.

that's probably the best approach. I fried my TRD piggyback ECU, along with the sensor...the bill....$0.00. Warrantees are a good thing.

It could be your vacuum hose(s)... did you check that?

Try resetting your cars computer: unhook both terminals from the battery and touch them together for a few seconds (away from the battery of course). then reconnect them and let the car idle for about 15 minutes... your car will relearn everything it knows
