Only things you can play with (adjust) without some modifications are the pedal height and freeplay. Pedal height is adjusted in front of the clutch pedal via a locknut and stopper bolt. Free play is adjusted via the push rod behind the pedal - same deal here, locknut and turn push rod.

The pickup for the clutch seems to be about an inch or two from the fully stroked position on most of the Toyotas I've driven. About the same for a Honda I used to have. I remember you used to have a Mitsu - not sure how that compares to that car.

Are you having issues with the pickup being too low / too high? As far as the takeup point - sometimes you need to flush the oil fluid out and bleed the lines (helps in most cases). Aftermarket clutches may also be another answer to improve or change the clutch feel.

ye i was actually going to bleed the lines this weekend when it stops raining :( i dont think my mechanic did. basically i already have an aftermarket clutch, but the engaugement point is way too high compared to the stock clutch. it was way lower when we first got the car. it also shakes quite a bit before it grabs. i think he didnt align it either.

Probably a good idea to do anyway - most shops do the minimum to get the job done to maximize how many cars they can get in while still charging "book time".

Did the guy resurface the original flywheel or did you go with a new flywheel? I doubt there is any alignment issues with the clutch - especially with the alignment tool that comes with these kits 99% of the time. Do you know if they checked for slop with the clutch release fork - sometimes too much slop in them and the take up is weird. Might get better with some more use.

they resurfaced it. it is slowly getting better in terms of pedal firmness. to me that suggests that theres air in there.

whats up with my control arms on the tranny getting stuck? it seems like something is misaligned because i have to jiggle the shift control levers on the tranny to get it to go from gear to gear. does anyone else have this problem?
