    Cluster Swap Pics

I finally got my new ebay cluster in today so i decided to do the swap. Even though it is a straight swap, i changed the Spedometer section so that my mileage would be accurate. I'm too lazy to write out a DIY for it right now so i decided to just show you guys the pictures for now. If anyone needs any detailed info let me know, i would be happy to help.

While I was at it, i changed the stock green bulbs for these new LED bulbs. They provide the brightest and most even color i've seen from an LED.

I just ordered the ambient temp sensor so that the damn -E will go away.

And finally, a throw back. (I actually got these indiglo guages from CR98 from the old forum i think)

I don't get it. you swapped a non-tach in to a tachometer version? or the other way around?

Yeah, i took my cluster from a CE with no tach and replaced it with one from an LE with tach. The very last pic is old, i've long since removed the indiglo guages.

Does your speedo work, cause I heard that if you just swap the speedo you can mess up your speedo.

If it does work can you tell me how you did it, cause I need to buy a new cluster my speedo doesn't work

no, i researched the old forum to make sure i wouldn't run into problems and this is the first i've heard of it being an issue. As far as i can tell there is no trouble with the speedometer being off. Just make sure you don't mess with the needle of the speedometer, thats where you get into problems. and yeah, i can help you out, let me know when you get a hold of one. mine was forty bucks shipped off of ebay.

I don't think the XRS would work since it has a different shape housing than ours. About the tach, the speedometer is fine since you keep your old one and just replace the other part with a tach. I've never had problems with mine.

also the xrs tach may not work because it has a different scale. you could make it work with some sort of tach / speedo corrector inbetween maybe

I'm sure i'm just misreading or you're not directing your answer to rolla02. but how did you just replace the part with the tach? What guages your engine temp and gas tank? So what really happens is that you take the new cluster and replace the speedometer portion of it with your old one (you dont swap in the tach from the new cluster into the old one).
